1. Who We Are

AltENV is a product of Prasora ("Company", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the AltENV website (altenv.dev) and purchase our software.

2. What We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

• Email address — provided at signup, used to deliver your license key and communicate important account information.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store, access, or have visibility into your credit card numbers or bank details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
• License and subscription data — your plan tier, license key, subscription status, and billing history.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

AltENV is self-hosted software. We want to be explicit about what we never have access to:

• API keys — your API keys are stored on your server, encrypted at rest. We never see them.
• Proxy traffic — all API requests routed through AltENV stay on your infrastructure. We do not intercept, log, or monitor any proxy traffic.
• Portal sessions — portal cookies and session data remain on your AltENV server.
• Dashboard data — your proxy configurations, device list, audit logs, and all dashboard content stay on your server.

Your AltENV instance does not phone home or transmit any operational data to us. The only outbound connection is license key validation, which sends only the license key itself.

4. Cookies

The AltENV website (altenv.dev) may use cookies for:

• Session management — to keep you logged in during the checkout and account management process.
• Analytics — to understand website traffic and improve the user experience. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.

Your self-hosted AltENV instance does not set any cookies that communicate with Prasora.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services in connection with the AltENV website:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy and PCI compliance. stripe.com/privacy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Used to send license keys, receipts, and account notifications. resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

• Account data (email, license key, subscription status) is retained for as long as your subscription is active.
• After subscription cancellation, we retain your data for up to 90 days to facilitate reactivation, after which it is deleted.
• You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or any jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal data.
• Export — request a machine-readable export of your data.
• Objection — object to processing of your data for specific purposes.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect. All communication with altenv.dev is encrypted via TLS. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified provider.

For your self-hosted AltENV instance, security is your responsibility. We provide AES-256-GCM encryption for stored secrets and recommend following our deployment guide for best practices.

9. Children

AltENV is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the AltENV website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
